More and more people
are concerned about their moral obligation to care for the earth.
“God’s Mandate: Care for Creation” was signed in
February 2005 by more than 1,000 religious leaders from all over the
United States that described themselves as individuals “for
whom loving our Creator and thus caring for God’s creation is
at the heart of our religious faith.” Their statement expresses
concern about global warming, toxic emissions from power plants fueled
by coal, and the absence of strong efforts to encourage conservation. |
